~The Aftermath

Storm woke up with the sun beaming down on her face. For a minute, she figured it was summertime outside the way the sweat trickled down her forehead. She rose removing her Chicago State University sweater that she borrowed from Hazel, revealing her luscious 38C breasts spilling out of her lace bra. She dabbed the sweat off with the sweater than tossed it over near the door, which was unusually opening gradually.

“Knock, knock.” Mike said as he crept in the room. “Were you asleep?”

“Nope. I was just laying here picking up the pieces of my life, that’s all. What’s up?” Storm said covering herself with the blue satin comforter.

“Nothing, I just thought I’d let you know that I’m sorry my son treated you like that last night. I mean, you’re like a daughter to us and he should’ve given you more respect than that.” Mike said moving over to the bed taking a seat on the far edge.

“Thanks Mike. I really appreciate that. Now I’m just trying to figure out where the hell I will go.” She said bowing her head in shame for sympathy.

“No, no. I wouldn’t have you put out because my son’s an ass. I didn’t raise him like that and I won’t show him that you toss women out on the street like garbage. You can stay as long as you like, Storm.”

“But I’m just not comfortable here. He will be coming here and shit with his son and new wifey. Mike, I couldn’t bare to watch that everyday.”

“I won’t hear of you moving anywhere else. Now when the summer hits, if you wanna move out, I’ll help pay your rent for six months until you get up. But if you think about leaving this house in the dead of winter, I won’t have it.” Mike said lighting his Black and Mild and taking a few puffs.

Storm loved the smell of those things but didn’t smoke. She wanted to take a puff of his and began gazing over at it, hoping he took the hint. He never did as he stood up walking back towards the door.

“By the way, Hazel had to leave for work early this morning so I guess you know what that means.” Mike said as he exited the room with smoke flowing behind him.

She knew exactly what it meant but she was dreading it so. Hazel worked the early morning shift from time to time so she could be at home in the evening spending time with her husband. Even though Mike made big time money Hazel wasn’t one to lean on or depend on any man no matter how much she loved them. They planned to finally move out of the projects into their house in the far north suburbs after they closed on it next month. It wasn’t too big or flashy but it was definitely something to accommodate their opulent lifestyle. No one ever really knew how much money they made but they speculated it had to be a lot since they very rarely spent any of it and the power they held was extensive.
